The Healing Process.
The easiest change to see is the weight loss. From a start of 230 lbs all the way down to 161 lbs (love the math here). 160 was my bottom out point. If I had dropped below to 159 I would have pursued a feeding tube which requires surgery. My doctor wanted to do it Tuesday but I was able to get some food down on Monday and cancelled the procedure.
The eating has been a challenge for 2 weeks. No appetite to eat at all. Swallowing anything besides water causes pain. There’s a hidden urge to vomit. Food still smells good. I just couldn’t consume it. Then Monday brought some hope and Tuesday was the most food I’ve eaten in nearly 2 weeks combined.
I had beans, greens, potato’s, tomatoes…
Hold up. Wrong menu. I had salmon, sloppy Joe’s, baked beans, 1 ice cream bar, pizza slice, roast vegetables, beef, Ensure & chili. All smaller portions then a normal adult would eat but portions nevertheless! Drank plenty of water and used a Saline drip. The forced diet worked and I’ve avoided another surgical procedure.
Unfortunately, this also leads to my next issue. again! The radiation fried me pretty good. With all of these healing sores and cuts I’m still pooping lava. Number 2 has become pubic enemy Number 1! PAIN! When I tell you it feels like I’m giving birth I’m not exaggerating at all. The fissures feel like they’re ripping open. The sores feel like fingernails on a chalkboard sound. But it’s the burn that’s the worst. It’s left me with no other choice then to call my ass hole *The Volcano* ing has become scary.
