Never forget that insurance companies are a business. Stage 4 Cancer requires a specific amount of medication to alleviate as much as they can the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Meanwhile my insurance company is preventing me from filling prescriptions within a certain time frame and I find this infuriating.
Now let’s be clear. They prescribed me Oxy and other pain relieving drugs which I avoid like the plague. Simply put the side effects those medications have limit my ability to accurately track the blockage these tumors have caused. This is deathly important because if it becomes a 100% blockage I have roughly 24 hours to get to the ER for an emergency life saving surgery. But I’m not talking about these types of medications that are commonly abused.
I have a medication that removes nausea. You’re honestly going to tell me that I’ve reached my limit and am unable to refill the prescription the Cancer Specialist have deemed necessary for my personal comfort? Are you fucking kidding me? And it doesn’t stop there.
I’m not going to list every drug I’m currently being prescribed as the list is too long. Just keep in mind that if you ever have to go up against the Insurance companies be prepared to take a loss.
And since I’m on rant mode there’s the steady increase of fuel costs due to a war that the United States doesn’t want to get involved in. I have to see these specialists every day and none are in walking distance. Apparently being a capitalist nation means exploit your citizens at every opportunity to increase your bottom line.
I can’t even work because of the changes that are occurring inside of my body. I haven’t worked in months. How long am I supposed to make my savings last? Prices are up across the board. Food costs more. Lumber costs more. Everything costs more. Virginia is on a snails pace to reach the $15 minimum wage and the cost of living continue to eclipse the wages earned in this commonwealth state. A shame commonwealth doesn’t equal sharing said wealth.
Let me get back on topic though. Stage 4 cancer usually can't be cured. In addition, because it will have spread throughout the body, it is unlikely it can be completely removed. The goal of treatment is to prolong survival and improve quality of life.
As you can see by todays outfit I have no issue going against the grain.
Top: Reebok. Pants: Adidas. Shoes: Nike.
Regardless what you throw at me I’m going to continue to defy the odds and fight my way back to the top. If one step forward leads to two steps back start walking sideways. Two wrong don’t make a right but three lefts do. Perception is key to success and I didn’t come all this way to give up now.
