Your Volunteered Services…

I’ve had many people offer me things such as rides, meal prep, etc., and with the upcoming Chemotherapy treatments during week 5, I would like to take you up on some of these offers. The family truck is headed to the shop and I’m not sure how long it will take to fix. I’m currently in week 4.

The chemo box they connect to my Medport goes off every 5-10 minutes with a weeks worth of constant dosage. The chemo is the “hard” part of the treatment with additional side effects and consequences. Add that to the snowballing radiation treatment which progressively gets worse over time and week 5 is going to be brutal.

What I would like for you to do is to post what days you’ll be available for whatever kindness you are offering to myself and/or my family so I can work out a schedule that will ease the burden of week 5. I want to take things into consideration such as distance from me and so on so please give a general idea of where you would be coming from as well. Obviously it’s more convenient for someone down the road to make the trip opposed to someone in West Virginia. I am located in Woodbridge VA. My appointments are either in Fairfax or Woodbridge as well.

As for meal choices, go with your favorite comfort foods. I want to experience your taste in quinine! If preparing a complete family meal don’t worry about my kids not liking it. I have no problem pulling the cancer card to make them eat it .

I thought of attempting to contact each person who reached out individually but there have been so many supportive messages to my inbox etc that’s it’s very difficult to keep up with who said what and I simply don’t have the energy I normally have for these types of tasks. So I’ve made this post instead. Not only will it allow me to see when people are available but hopefully those posting will be able to see it as well and work around each other.

The support I’ve received during this trying time has been nothing short of incredible . It moves me to my core. In a jaded world (Not to be confused with Jada) where the main focal point is always on one’s self I find it amazing that people are still willing to go above and beyond their own needs to offer assistance to others. It shows that our world is a beautiful place worth being a part of. As always I want to thank all of my supporters and continue to lean on the strength you have allowed me to have. Thank you again from another sleepless night away from Seattle.
